The start of the school year is fast approaching and for many of us, it marks the beginning of a new season of commitments and opportunities. This new beginning is often accompanied by changes in appearance and wardrobe. What are the fashion trends for the fall of 2023? We introduce them to you in the following lines.
Back to school style 2023
This year, the tie is making a comeback to join a trend back to school inherited from the 2000s. The timeless tie-white shirt duo, so characteristic of school uniforms, has made remarkable appearances on several haute couture shows. From Dior to Dolce & Gabbana, this set has nevertheless been associated with several versions of stockings, each more original than the next. Thus, the knee-length skirt can be replaced by an infinity of original pieces – from the original long skirt to the chic leather pants.

The trend quiet luxury
When we hear the word luxury in fashion, we usually imagine an ultra-chic and pimped style that is noticeable from afar. This fall, however, we will break with this idea, in favor of the trend quiet luxury – a simple and discreet luxury that is not directly obvious. It’s over then with the big logos and the noticeable prints. It will now be a question of playing the card of subtlety by adopting, for example, the blazer and jeans duo with elegance and worked simplicity. Minimalist pieces and monochrome outfits would then be in the spotlight.
Luxury reinvented
Fashion that sees red
After a summer dominated by the trend barbie and the color pink, autumn promises to be red. And we will no longer speak of a burgundy, ruby or carmine hue, but of a classic flamboyant red that would make it possible to stand out in the street. However, avoid the total rogue look and associate with black or white pieces and accents, enough to attenuate the intensity of the color.

Colored tights
Another trend that will bring color back into our wardrobes are colorful tights. If you have opted for a monochrome outfit and you want an original accent, these will give interest to your outfits. This season, we will forget for a little while the timeless nude tights, in favor of reds, purples, greens and all other colors to stand out from the crowd.

Skirt over pants
The catwalks of Fendy and Givenchy drew their inspiration from another trend of the 2000s, in particular the skirt worn over trousers. If the layering (superposition of several pieces of clothing) is very characteristic for the autumn-winter season, this year it would slip down. You can adopt the same print/color or bet on the difference and the contrasts to fill up on dopamine.

Discreet floral accents
Floral prints are usually associated with the joy that fills our summer wardrobes. That’s about to change, because this year flowers would also be blooming on our back-to-school outfits. Discreet and minimalist, they would even slip over gray and black rooms, just to brighten up these sad backgrounds. To maximize the effect, consider 3D dimensional flowers that would add relief to your outfit.

Folds at will
A tendency to multiply folds on clothes, and especially on dresses, would also be noticed. From soft and discreet drapes to very graphic pleats, there would be plenty of room for this trend which would add a touch of sophistication to our outfits. When adopting draped accents, just beware of the visual overload that can arise from using too rich and intense prints and colors.
